Cloud Security Engineer
Embed security into cloud platforms—identity, monitoring, and controls.
Role overview
You will design security controls and guardrails across AWS environments, from IAM governance to logging, detection, and incident response—ensuring compliance and reducing risk.
Education & level
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in security engineering (cloud preferred)
- Strong understanding of IAM, encryption, and security monitoring
- Comfort working with risk assessments and remediation plans
What success looks like
You deliver measurable risk reduction through guardrails, automation, and high-signal detection, without slowing delivery teams.
- Least-privilege IAM and credential hygiene enforced
- Centralized logging and detection pipelines
- Actionable security standards adopted by engineers
Key responsibilities
You will lead security engineering initiatives:
- Design IAM governance, role models, and privileged access workflows
- Implement security monitoring (CloudTrail, GuardDuty, SIEM integrations)
- Define encryption standards (KMS), key lifecycle, and secrets handling
- Perform threat modeling and security reviews for new architectures
- Build incident response playbooks and support security events
Required skills
We are looking for deep cloud security expertise:
- AWS security services (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Config)
- Security monitoring and detection engineering concepts
- Policy-as-code and automated compliance (Terraform, OPA, etc.)
- Vulnerability management and remediation prioritization
- Strong communication: explaining risk and solutions clearly
Nice-to-have
Preferred, not required:
- AWS Security Specialty, Security+, or similar certifications
- Experience with SOC workflows and SIEMs
- Knowledge of ISO 27001 / SOC 2 style controls
